Iris Murdoch, privacy, and the limits of moral testimony

Recent discussions of moral testimony have focused on the acceptability forming beliefs basis testimony, but there has been little acknowledgement limits to testimony's capacity convey knowledge. In this paper I outline one such limit, drawing Iris Murdoch's conception private concepts. Such concepts, suggest, plausibly play an important role in thought, and yet knowledge expressed them cannot be testimonially acquired.
